this music video created controversial talks about the way that rihanna was claimed to be braless and that viewers were able to see her nipples through a see-through top she was wearing in part of the video. as well as the intermit dancing with Drake thoughout the video began to make people feel as though the video was too sexual. this sparked at lot of talk about whether the video should be banned or not, which meant the video was taken down of Youtube for a while. Furthermore, this caused a lot of hatred towards the song at first and disgusted a lot of fans. However, was then put back up on the Internet and controversy was resolved because people began to except the video for what it is and made it stand out. In result of this videos drama therefore attracted more attention to the video and meaning it helped gain more recognition to the song. The video generated more records sold and millions more views on youtube. This also shows that controversy can have a positive affect on the people which may mean that you could come to the assumption that artist may implement unexpected aspects into the video to draw in more publicity.

this music video creates an emotional attachment with the viewers from the beginning of the video to the end. the video consists of a live performance of the song and shows the connection J Cole has with his fans in the audience and how he controls them with his music, various close ups are shown within the video to show the expression on the faces of faces towards his music. During the video there is a repeated editing switch between the live performance and numerous memonts of J Cole's day to day lifestyle which furthermore means that the purpose of this music video is the promotion of the particular song.
